When the pandemic upended the world in spring 2020, essential businesses were forced to turn on a dime to keep their operations running. At Bye, Goff & Rohde, one of the people who worked behind the scenes to keep the firm functioning was Lana Ament.
Going Above and Beyond
At a time when many people were working remotely, Ament, office assistant for the firm, came in every day to make sure clients’ calls were being routed correctly.
“She did all of this without pause,” said Jessica Minor, marketing manager at Bye, Goff & Rohde. “During this time she also managed to keep spirits up by always remembering staff birthdays and anniversaries. She would send a special message to the entire office. During COVID she planned socially distanced events for the team to stay connected.”
Now that employees have returned to the office, Ament has shifted back to her primary responsibilities. Her duties include helping paralegals and legal assistants, supporting the receptionist, serving as a trial assistant for attorneys, and helping our finance manager.
In Lana’s Words
“We truly have a great team, and we know how to work hard but also have fun,” added Ament. Ament said the need to work with clients keeps her sharp. “You just have to remember what they are going through and they don’t know the legal process, so a little understanding goes a long way,” she said.
Outside the office, Ament enjoys spending time with her six children and seven grandchildren. She also likes riding motorcycles and recently adopted a horse from an Amish community.
