“I assure my clients from the outset that their case is very important to me, and that they will receive my very best efforts. Additionally, I assure them that I will always be available to answer their questions and that their case will receive the attention it deserves.”
As an experienced personal injury trial lawyer, Steven Goff stresses the word “personal” the most. With his practice focused entirely on plaintiffs’ personal injury, he enjoys developing professional relationships with his clients and really getting to know them. “You can’t do the best job for your client unless you talk to them, get to know them, and fully appreciate how the accident and injuries have affected their lives, and those close to them,” stresses Steve. Steve takes immense pride in standing up for the “little guy” against big companies. When you work with Steve, you can take the weight of the world off your shoulders and try to focus your entire attention on receiving medical treatment and recovering as best you can from your injuries. Steve will make sure you are treated fairly and will fight to get you the settlement you deserve or take your case to trial.
Steve graduated from Iowa State University with honors in 1976. He was a member of the scholastic fraternities of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi. He moved from Ames, Iowa to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1976, where he pursued his law degree from the University of Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1979 and immediately became a member of the Bar in both Wisconsin and Minnesota that same year. Steve was also admitted to practice in the federal courts of those states and in the Supreme Court of the United States.
In 1979, Steve moved from Minnesota to River Falls, Wisconsin, where he has spent the ensuing 44 years practicing in the small town he loves. “I would never have moved too far from the Twin Cities metropolitan area, but River Falls offers the perfect complement of a wonderful small town and outdoor life, and with the Twin Cities so close, the amenities only those cities can offer.” Steve has been very active in the River Falls community, where he served as City Attorney for the first 20 years of his practice, and has been a member of numerous civic organizations such as Kiwanis and Rotary. He has also been active on several conservation groups for the protection of the Kinnickinnic River, a Class A trout stream, which runs through the city of River Falls.
Steve is an avid fisherman and enjoys annual trips to Canada, local trout fishing, and spending time with his friends and family at his cabin in northern Wisconsin. I have gotten some of my best fishing tips and fishing spots from my clients, and it is always a fertile area of discussion, says Steve. “I love the people of western Wisconsin, and I knew this was going to be home from the first day I came here.”
